the playway WelcomesFebruary

In Sri Lanka, the month of February arouses fresh thoughts, because it marks the re-gain of Independence from the British Empire.

63 years ago we were not independent to think or express. Today we are… BUT, how many of us do?

Your children at the playway are free and privileged. Our duty towards them is to make them independent thinkers, explorers, risk takers and autonomous learners!!! And build their self esteem.

Through our topic of Inquiry, we give immense opportunity for the children to learn about themselves, their place of birth and their peers. They learn the differences and the similarities. They learn to respect and respond.

Please help your child (1+ to 3) to find a (current) photograph of him/ her, family, grandparents, home, pet (s), and a photograph of their infancy. For the children who are 3+ please send a current photo, his/ her favourite out fit and a pair of sneakers to the playway for their activities.

*Please send these items by February 09 2011. Your cooperation in this regard is truly appreciated.

Congratulations February borns!!!

Amani celebrates her 3^rd birthday on February 06, while little Michelle her second birthday on February 09. Also, Aken, his 3^rd birthday on February 15.

We wish Amani, Michelle and Aken loads of FUN and every happiness throughout the coming years. Happy, Happy Birthdays children!!!

Our Philosophy

Jaana loves the playway and is very happy here. We are very pleased with it and hope to keep her here as long as we can. We are very happy with the amount of thought and care put into the activities and arrangement of toys and classroom.

What do you like best about the playway?

That it is ALL play!

Also the great stimulation, colors, care and attention to detail to make everything so attractive and of course, the teachers.

Any suggestions for improvement?

Nothing for now really. Perhaps more singing.

We appreciate that the number of students are limited to a small group. This has provided greater individual attention.

What do you like best about the playway?

It is well equipped and child friendly. The garden activities are very good.

How did you come to know about the the playway?

Through a promotional leaflet at some event.

Any suggestions for improvement?

Please continue the good work.

Suggest taking the children out on a visit to a park or the zoo etc. (accompanied by parents).

Nice warm friendly environment with teachers who make the children feel special.

What do you like best about the playway?

Lots of different activities for the children and the way the children are taken care of.

Some more outdoor activities.
